Ways to reduce car accidents

As drivers, we have the responsibility on the road to ourselves, our loved one and to other drivers. Responsibility here involves a few thins that is we must be extremly careful when we are on the road. We must think of others and do not be selfish. So, today we weill discuss how to reduce road accidents.

First, it is our responsibility to make sure that our vehicles are in a good condition. This is to ensure that our vehicle do not break down or couse accidents. Therefore, plan ahead. Service your car regularly, at least once in every six months. While driving on the road, keep on the speed limit all the time, not only when you suspect there is a speed trap ahead. Not only you can prevent accident but also you can reduce the usage of fuel of your vehicle by keeping the speed limit.

Next, the police must organise a road safety campaigns to give information and awareness among the road users about the dangers of inconsiderate driving. Moreover, the police must also give punishment or fined for drivers who break traffic rules. Right now, the punishment given is not enough to prevent drivers from repeating their mistakes or to scare off potential selfish drivers.

In summary, drivers must concern the ways to reduce road accidents. This should start from the driving school as the teachers must tell their students not to break traffic rules.

Pros and cons watching television..

Nowadays, television(TV) plays an important role in one's life. Besides being the source of information, it provides endless entertainment for the whole family. As a result, every family now owns a TV or maybe more as TV is now becoming a medium to unite a family. Everyone will surely agree that there many advantages and disadvantages watching TV. Let me discuss the advantages first.

Firstly the TV brings us news from all over the world. Political happenings, social events, festivals, people, places and almost everything from all parts of the world comes to us through the TV set at home. We just do not have to spent a big sum of money to go overseas to get the news. The most interesting event I recently witness from the TV was President's Obama's inauguration and I would hear his great speech. Events showing political instability in countries like Thailand, gives me fears too. There are also many programs showing the beauties and scenaries in other countries that I can see and enjoy without having to spent my money.

Furthermore, TV can be considered as a path for the students to improve their knowledge. There are several channel which provide many programmes that can help students in their studies especially in science like in Discovery Channel, TVIQ, National Geographic Channel and more. As we all know, in science there are many things which need us to imagine for instance mitosis and meiosis processes. It'll be difficult for us to see the processes with our naked eyes. However, now students can see the real processes by watching it only in the TV. Thus, it can help them to improve their studies.

For housewives, or elderly people who stay at home most of the time, the television is in fact their best friend and best company. Malay, Chinese, Tamil, Hindustani, Korean, Japanese and Indonesian dramas are shown throughout the day keeping them company. I have heard of housewives glued to the TV set every Saturdays to watch Hindustani movies. These dramas also teach us a lot about life and the characters of people. Usually bad people will end up being punished either by God or by authorities. I myself like to watch Chinese serial dramas because of the moral lessons they give. Many of my Malay friends also like to watch Chinese dramas.
Children are also not left out. There are many programs planned for children like cartoons, animal adventures, quizzes and explorations. Actually children can learn a lot by watching cartoons like Teletubbies, Barbie, Cinderella and many more.

Despite all the advantages, we must not forget that there are also many disadvantages watching TV. Lately, social problems involving teenagers are becoming wide spread. From a research done, one of the factor of this problem is that the teenagers are badly influence by TV programmes. The programmes which contain sexual scene and violence are not being filtered. This can affect the growing phase of the teenagers as their mind are not really matured. Some of them will follow what they see from the TV because they are curious to know. That is why the percentage of social problems are increasing day by day. Many crimes are being committed by imitating the crime movies on TV.

Another very disturbing fact is that students get addicted to the TV and thus forget their studies. They watch shows most of the time and thus neglect their homework . This is especially so during the AF or Academy Fantasia Singing Contest every Saturdays. Students waste a lot of time concentrating on TV shows instead of studying. This will also give bad effect to their health. When they spend most of their time in front of the TV, the light from the TV will give effect to their eyes. This can lead to dim of eyesight. This will disturb the students' concentration when they're studying.

In summary, TV has brings advantages and disadvantages in one's life. Though, everyone must be responsible to appriciate one of our source of information and communication. Parental supervision are needed to control their children from watching uncensored scene from the television.

Safe driving can save lives..

I've always wanted to drive a car since I was a little girl. For me, driving a car is so 'COOL'! When I was 17 years old, I am qualify to take a driving license. Without waiting till the end of the year, I registered myself to a driving academy in order to take my driving lesson. Although it was a very important year for me to really concentrate on my studies (because i'm having SPM that time), but it never weaken my spirit to continue taking my driving license. At last, on the month of August 2008, I managed to get my driving license. Yeeeaaaaaaa!!!! I was very excited that time.

Driving is a very wonderful experience. Moreover, if we have our own car that will be great. We can go anywhere we want. We don't have to bother other people. And, on top of that we don't have to trouble ourself to take any public transports which will always be full with people(like a sandwich!). However, don't be so glad because you must remember that when you are driving on the road, you are responsible with your life and also other drivers. Make sure you are driving carefully and always follow the rules.

So, now I am giving all of you some tips for a safe driving based on my experience.

1. Before driving, make a simple safety check. Make sure your car is in good condition. Check all the tyres, all the lights whether they are working or not and also your petrol level. Never wait until the tank is empty to refill.

2. When you enter the car, adjust the sit to make you comfortable(to drive, not to sleep). Then, when you are sitting in correct position, adjust both side mirror(so that you can see any car coming from your left and right). Also, don't forget to adjust the front mirror(allow you to see any car coming from behind).

3. Always wear your seatbelt. They are created to reduce the impact of collision if any accident happen. Remind to the other passanger to do so.

4. When driving, keep your eyes moving. Notice what is happening in your surrounding. Don't forget to keep on watching side mirrors.

5. If the traffic in front are moving slow, move to the right lane only if you are able to. But never forget to give signal before changing your direction.

6. Be patience when driving. Do not simply honk your car. Never expect other driver will not do any mistake. Be aware to prevent any unfortunate.

7. Never move to close with the car in front. This can give you chance to be prepare if anything happen.

8. Always follow the traffic rule. Once you brake it, your life is in great danger.

That's all I can remember now. Drive carefully and remember the one you love. Safe driving can give you chance to spend more time with them...

Different types of feeling in life..

FEELING.... Every human being are gifted by God with various kinds of feeling. Feeling can be described as the nominalization of to feel. The word was first used in the English language to describe the physical sensation of touch either through experience or perception. The word is also used to describe physical sensation apart from touch such as "a feeling of warmth". In psychology the word is usually reserved for the conscious subjective experience of emotion.(WIKIPEDIA) However, today I will discuss more on emotional feeling such as sadness, fear, happiness, love, care, sympathy, n many more..

What will you feel if you are a mother/father? As we know, parents always care for their children. If can, they don't want to see their children to be hurt or sad. They will do anything for their children. Logically, I think our mother and father love us so much. They have the feeling of worried, fear, responsibility and more (only the parents will understand it). That is why sometimes they become very overprotected. We must never hurt our parents, because they have sacrifice many things for us such as they sacrifice their youth just to raise us and for that, they have to spend a lots of money intent to give us a better life. (Mama, thank you very much...I love you mama)

On the other hand, for a couple who are in love. What types of emotion do they have? Firstly, of course love. When the feeling develop gradually, they'll be longing for each other. Slowly, the lovers will try to take care of each other. Then, they will feel that they need each other. This lead them to get married because they feel they really need each other to complete their life. Sadly, there are certain couple who just pretend to love his/her partner. This is mainly because they want to satisfied their sexual desire. That's why now we can see there are many female teenagers get pregnant before having their legal marriage. Therefore, before involving yourself with any love matter, you have to be really prepare with your emotion. So that you won't do anything wrong.

On the contrary, what type of feeling involved between enemies? Have you ever hate someone? Certainly you have. What do you feel when you see the person you hate? Hatred or disgust what about annoyed or else angry or all of them? These are the examples of feeling you will undergo when you hate someone. Well, I think every religions prohibited their followers to hate with each other. In Islam for example, when we didn't speak or greet each other more than 3 days, we will be sinful. It's not allowed in our religion.

Hence, everything we do in life will relate with many types of feeling. Make sure you know how to control your feeling especially involving with emotions. Never follow your desire but listen to your mind and heart. So that you won't do any mistakes. However, who will never do mistakes? It is alright to do mistake but remember to learn from your mistakes in order to live a better life.

Since we are discussing about feeling.. Right now I am feeling so scared and worried. My SPM result will soon be announced. I am scared if my result is bad and I'm worried if I'll make my parents disappointed...Hopefully I will pass my SPM with flying colours..yeah, we have to think positive..Right? Hehehe...

Skills are inherited or trained?

"You are.....just like your parent'' Has anyone said such words to you?? I am sure you have heard such statement.. So have I.. Although sometimes it may not be true, but what can you do instead of just smile to that person. Skills are inherited or trained? I've always question about it. So, why not if we discuss about it.

There are various types of skills in life such as communication skills, academic skills, motor skills, and many more. Not everyone can managed these skills greatfully. Different people own different skills. What made them different?

The answer for it depends on that particular person. For me, environmental factors like place grown up, plays an important role to develop certain skills. For example, children will try to follow whatever they see and usually they copy their parents behaviour. In some cases, if the parents have talent in singing their children also inherit this talent. The best example I can give is Dato Siti Nurhaliza. She inherit her singing skill from her mother. On the other hand, what happen to a child who was born without his parent. Can his parent's skills be inherited to him?

So, skills are also trained. If someone do something they are told to do repeatedly, the skill will eventually developed. For example, crafts making skill. At first, we have to learn how to make it from a person who is really good with the skill. Then, when we keep on practising making craft, our skill of craft making will be better and better. This show skills are trained. Furthermore, parents always want the best for their children. For some parents who are rich, they will send their children for any classes just to learn certain skills like being able to play music instruments. This also show skills can be develop through learning.

In conclusion, skills can be inherited and trained depending on the life style of an individual. For me, many of my skills are not inherited from my parents. For example, my mother is very good in communication skill but not her daughter. I'm not very good with that skill. Sometimes, I feel dissapointed with it Maybe I should do something to train myself in communication skill. So, that my mother can proudly say I am her daughter. Hehehe....

Should students be required to wear uniforms at school???

When I was in school, I used to be a debater in Bahasa Melayu. Whenever there's a parliamentary debate competition, all the debaters have to prepare for the topic given. In a debate competition, there are 2 sides; government and opposition. We have to prepare all the points for both sides because the sides we have to represent only decided on the day of the competition. I still can remember spending most of time in library just to find any information regarding the topic. It was really an unforgettable memory for me. I love to debate and now I yearn to debate again.

So, as a former debater I've chosen a topic which is "should students be required to wear uniforms at school" to be debated. I'll represent the opposition and I believe that students should NOT be required to wear uniforms at school. I also will provide some possible arguments from the government.

I will begin with the history of school uniform in Malaysia. Malaysia introduced Western style school uniforms in the late 19th century during British colonial era until post-independence. Today, school uniforms are almost universal in the public and private school systems. The current Malaysian school uniforms are compulsory for all students attending public schools.(WIKIPEDIA)

Wearing school uniforms can help to reduce discipline problems and violence. I strongly disagree with that statement. I think wearing school uniforms lead to more rule breaking. Students will feel unsatisfied and become rebellious. This happen when they are forced to do something they don't like such as being told to tuck in their shirts. Nowadays in Malaysia, we are having more and more involvement by students in criminal cases. As for evidence, recently a car of a school teacher was burnt by her students. This doesn't show how school uniforms reduce discipline problems and violence. Just because you change someones clothes, doesn't mean that you change their personality. It's like taking a bunch of convicts and making them all wear uniforms, does that really solve anything. Does it change who they are? Are they any less of a murderer than before they wore the uniform?

Second argument, wearing school uniforms is more affordable for parents as the price is cheaper. I object this statement with all my heart. There are many types of school uniforms from different brand. The cheapest usually made up from low quality fabric; doesn't last long and tear easily. If this type of fabric frequently washed, it won't last long. As result, parents have to buy new uniforms although the old one just newly bought. Furthermore, some students are more comfortable in a specific material. Some students cannot wear material made up from cotton because it can cause itchiness. Students need to feel comfort in order to concentrate their studies. So, they have to find alternative way like send their preferable clothes to the tailor which will cost hundreds ringgit. In addition, students have to wear school uniforms for 5 days. So, they suppose to have at least 2 sets of uniforms. Well, is it true school uniforms are cheap? On top of that, students can't use their school uniforms outside the school. So, parents have to buy other clothes for their children. Just imagine how much will it cost for 2 sets of uniform plus with a few types of ordinary clothes for their children? This should be no problem for people who are wealthy, but what about the poors? Thus, students should never be required to wear school uniforms.

Lastly, wearing school uniforms can improve social outcome. Again, I strongly object this statement. Wearing school uniforms making hard for teachers to see the real individuality of their students. Today, teenagers especially always try to express themselves through what they are wearing. To being required to wear school uniforms violated their right to do that because they are not allowed to show their personalities. This can make them to feel uneasy or lazy to go to school. What will happen if they don't go to school? Who will be the future leaders?

As conclusion, I strongly believed that students should NOT be required to wear uniforms at school based on the above reasons.

Personally, I hate to wear school uniforms. Now whenever I see school pupils with their uniforms, I'll be laughing in my heart and say how lucky I am now, don't have to wear those ugly uniforms again. Hehehehe...

Financial Crisis Phenomenon...

Our world now is having financial crisis due to sliding of stock market. Even the new president of U.S now, Barack Hussein Obama is struggling to solve this problem. We should now realise that cost of living today is getting higher and higher. We must know how to manage our financial correctly now because of the rise in prices such as oil and fuel, household products, taxi fare and many more. With the rise of prices and low amount of salary given, we should be careful when spending.

Unfortunately, I'm so amaze to see how people still not realising what is happening now. Even if we go to the supermarket we can see how people are spending their money now like a lord. For example if you go to One Utama, you can see all the restaurants(from the most expensive to the cheapest) are full with people. They just don't care how much money they'll spend for the food. For me, why not if we cook ourselves and eat at home with our family. Definitely we'll save more money. Besides, we can take this opportunity to be closer with our family.

I was surfing the net and I found this website on how to spend money wisely. So, I'm gonna share with all of you. Firstly, when buying make sure you get more of what you really need rather than what you want. This step is little bit tricky because usually we always buy what we want and it tend to be more expensive. But don't worry, when there's a will there's a way. Of course we want to fulfill our desire but at this time we must play safe. Secondly, spend within your means. For people who are working, it's better to spend less than what you earn. For example, your salary is RM3000. Try to spend only RM 2000 and keep the balance safely in your bank account. The money you keep can help you whenever you are really in need. Thirdly, try it before you buy it. Meaning that you should try something before taking home to prevent you from buying unnecessary things. Sometimes we usually buy what we like to see such as beautiful pink blouse which really capture your attention, surely you'll buy it without noticing it doesn't match with you. Next, make your own budget. Every months, plan whatever you need to buy and if possible write it in your personal book. Do calculation based on what you spend last time and try to reduce it. Lastly, avoid from using credit card too often. This may prevent you from making various miscellaneous purchases and reducing more debts to be settled.

At this critical time, everyone should think wisely. Be prepared before anything happens. Teenagers like me especially must know how to help our parents and not trouble them. We are suppose to be ready with any circumstances.

This evening, I went to buy my favourite ice-cream(magnum walls), I was so shocked how expensive the price now. Formerly, it cost only RM3 but now the price rise to RM3.80. 80 cent higher. If everything become so expensive, I'll be broke la..So sad..
